Google has reportedly tried to acquire Cyanogen Inc. ,maker of one of the most multi device custom ROMs especially for android phone,Cyanogen mod .According to the information,Cyanogen Inc. made an agreement with Indian handset maker Micromax to launch a Cyanogen mod-based android smartphone in future.
Cyanogen mod has millions of users,and some Original equipment manufactures(OEMs) like Oppo,Oneplus uses Cyanogen's firmwares in shipping devices.Google offered $1 billion to buy Cyanogen Inc.It is rumoured that Google is trying to eliminate the competition,of which Cyanogen is essentially the most threatening amongst custom android builds.Cyanogen earned $22 million in their B funding last year and they are trying to get $1 billion in their C funding which will be the main reason to reject Google's $1 billion proposal.
