A flaw in mac operating system is being exploited by hackers,which is giving them access to thousand of mac users all over the world.More than 17,000 macs,out of which 1,200 are in U.K have been infiltrated by the malware "Mac.Backdoor.iWorm"
The program give remote control access to the hacker from the infected computers by complicated communication system which manipulates the search and comment functions of the popular website reddit.When a mac is infected with the iWorm its makes a connection to a command server and then uses reddit search function to locate comment posted by hackers in a thread devoted to the discussion of the game Minecraft.
After finding the comments,iWorm attempts to connect to the server address described in the minecraft subreddit and when connected the hacker can send commands to their 'Botnet' of the infected computer.
It doesn't seem like the infected computers are currently being used for any attack,so the hackers behind iWorm are likely growing the network.
